I would like to join the marines with a friend can I request to go through Basic Training with him? Can we both be placed in the same unit?Yes, like S.T.A stated above, you can do the Buddy Program.

And they use to do the buddy system, not sure if they still doYes. Buddy program, both leave at the same time, both in the same platoon.Yeah i was looking into that but your going to get alot of **** from the D.I.'s about you two being gay and stuffyou can enlist into the buddy program..this will guarantee you both do boot camp together..after boot camp there are no guarantees
